Food Insecurity
Food insecurity, and the actions we can take to combat it, are featuring prominently on campus this month. Upper School students recently hosted Owen Dubeck, a founder of the nonprofit organization Farmlink, to view his award-winning documentary Abundance.
In addition to Crystal, Owen screened Abundance at COP28 and to several other government audiences. View Abundance online.
Farmlink was established during the pandemic when a few college students noticed a stark paradox and decided to transport excess food from farms to food banks in need. It’s an amazing example of what young people can do for the world - Farmlink has since transported millions of pounds of food to people in need and they are only getting started!
Both Upper School and Middle School students participated in a protein drive to support Samaritan House. Additionally, students prepared and delivered lunches to LifeMoves, a local agency fighting homelessness.
