Hometown: Los Altos Hills
The school I attended before Crystal: Phillips Brooks School (Elementary)
Grade I joined Crystal: 6th
Graduation Year: 2026
Interests/Activities: I was the Mech Lead for Crystal Springs Robotics Team 4990 this year. I was responsible for designing, prototyping, and fabricating the intake, indexer, and shooter subsystems. I also trained incoming 9th grade new to robotics using various power tools and best practices for designing and manufacturing the subsystems. I am also the leader of the Design and Engineering club. In this club, we offer students the chance to practice their design and engineering skills through inter-club building competitions. This semester, we have held a catapult-building competition with around 15 students. Additionally, I am a member of the STEM Invention Studio. This year, I participated in the South School STEAM Day, where Upper school students go to South Elementary School and conduct science experiments with elementary schoolers.
My favorite spot on campus is the nook in the back of the library. I enjoy staying in this library nook during office hours and after school. Often, my friends will also be there with me. I appreciate my classes at Crystal, but sometimes they can feel hectic. Comparatively, the nook is peaceful and calm, which allows me to relax after a day at school. It is also a great place to study for classes. The books that line the library add to the "atmosphere" of the nook, getting me into the zone for focusing on academics. The library, in general, is a place for students to prepare and study for assessments. When the weather warms in the Spring, the nook looks even better as the sun shines through the stained-glass windows, casting a warm light across the library. The Mansion’s historical architecture also surrounds the nook. It's fantastic to see the physical representation of the mansion's history and legacy, and it makes me feel grateful for the opportunity to take classes and study in a mansion, which is a unique experience.
