Crystal does not tolerate racial injustice of any kind; Crystal affirms the diversity of people, ideas and experiences within our community; and Crystal knows that the best way to truly grow is to engage with one another in ways that might be uncomfortable.
Statement in Support of Black Lives Matter
Specifically, Crystal Springs Uplands School believes that Black Lives Matter. We view this moment as an important call to action for our institution and entire community.We are unwavering in our commitment to growth as a community. We acknowledge that our history as a predominately white institution impacts the experiences of Black and other traditionally underrepresented People of Color in our Crystal and broader communities. We know it is imperative to listen deeply, reflect rigorously, and accept mistakes humbly. We know we have more work to do as a school to examine and interrupt all forms of oppression, including racism in our community and beyond.
Statement in Support of the AAPI Community
We stand in solidarity with members of our Crystal community, in particular our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members, as we grapple with the senseless acts of violence occurring throughout the country.We will continue to stand with members of our community in healing from and processing these events while we evolve as an institution that understands how systemic racism hurts us all.
To the AAPI members of our community who have been personally affected and troubled by these horrendous acts — we see you and we are here for you.
