3rd Annual All-School Convocation

In our third year on two campuses, we celebrated the first day of school with the entire student and adult population, once again.  Middle schoolers hopped on buses to the Upper School and were met by seniors and Gus the Gryphon at the front gates.

Middle schoolers then crossed through the Ballroom to greet faculty members who high-five each student as they come down the stairs and join the upper schoolers on the back lawn. Seniors each serve as an escort for one or two new sixth graders, a favor the youngest students will return in seven years.

The student body presidents from both divisions welcomed us to the new school year while President of the Board of Trustees Gerry Horkan, officially installed Kelly Sortino as Crystal's seventh head of school.  Kelly ended her remarks by reminding everyone that we are all in this together, which also served to kick off a surprise faculty and staff flash mob. Kelly is known as the "Queen of the Flash Mob," so there is perhaps no better start to her tenure than quasi-spontaneous public group dancing!
