Gryphons Show The Love at Samaritan House and LifeMoves

During February, the Crystal Community Engagement Committees from both the student and parent communities partnered with Samaritan House and LifeMoves. They worked to educate themselves about the struggles of food insecurity in San Mateo County and to contribute to getting food to neighbors.
In San Mateo County, 30-40% of residents are considered food insecure, yet don’t qualify for federal support. Samaritan House and LifeMoves step in to help in these instances.

By the numbers, Crystal students and parents/guardians:
  • Filled four bins of protein during a campus-wide protein drive for Samaritan House
  • Made 128 sandwiches and bagged lunches during lunch for LifeMoves
  • Helped on-site at Samaritan House to pack 48 boxes of healthy food, 265 bags of food and drinks, and three pallets of food to be distributed to neighbors unable to leave their homes
  • Performed over 100 hours of service to Samaritan House and LifeMoves
It was a month of recognizing and celebrating our Core Value to Foster Kindness and Inclusion. Here’s to more moments together as Gryphons, serving our community!
