Sophomore "Difference Maker" Helps Seniors with Puzzles

KCBS radio featured Saahil J '23 for his work teaching San Mateo seniors how to solve the ever-challenging Rubik's Cube in their "Difference Makers" series. Saahil shifted from teaching children to seniors during the pandemic, inspired by visits to his grandmother and teaching her to master the puzzle.

KCBS quoted Saahil, "There’s a lot of skill that comes with solving the colorful cube. It can improve mental health and increase socialization for those feeling lonely in nursing homes." It is rewarding for Saahil when residents of the homes he visits regularly recognize him and build upon their skills.
